Description
Speck SmartShell 150225-3085 is a Obsidian grey two-piece snap-on hard shell made for the 13.6-inch MacBook Air with M2 (2022), M3 (2024), M4 (2025) or M5 (2026). The slim polycarbonate-and-TPE construction covers the lid and lower housing while retaining access to the computer's ports and ventilation openings.
- Confirm the exact MacBook model and year before installation. Screen size alone is not sufficient: this shell is not for the older 13.3-inch M1 MacBook Air, any MacBook Pro, or another laptop whose hinge, feet, ports or housing dimensions differ.
- The matte hard shell helps limit ordinary scratches, scuffs and small knocks to the aluminium housing. It has no stated drop rating and does not make the notebook waterproof or impact-proof; it cannot protect the display, hinge or internal hardware from every fall, crush or spill.
- Clips hold the upper and lower pieces in place, while rubberised feet improve grip on a clean, dry, level desk. Grip is not guaranteed on dust, oil, wet surfaces or slopes; support the computer when moving it and stop using a foot or clip that becomes loose or damaged.
- Align each piece without forcing it and ensure no clip presses a cable, hinge or display edge. After fitting, verify that the lid opens normally, all feet sit evenly and every port and vent remains clear; remove the shell if it causes flexing, rubbing, overheating or connector obstruction.
- A matte texture can reduce visible fingerprints and smudges but does not prevent them. Remove the shell periodically, clear trapped grit with a soft dry cloth and clean according to Speck's instructions; solvents, abrasives and grit can haze or scratch both the case and MacBook.
The package contains one two-piece Speck SmartShell case. MacBook, charger, cable and other accessories are not included.
