What is the difference between a silicone and a plastic case?

A silicone case is soft and flexible, and it absorbs impact well. It grips in the hand, but it collects dust and yellows over time. A hard plastic (PC) case is thin and easy to keep clean, but it does not give under impact. For most people a TPU or hybrid case is the better compromise — it combines both.

How do I choose the right case?

Choose for the way you actually use the phone: if you drop it often, take a rugged case; if you want to keep the phone slim, TPU or silicone is enough; if you want to carry cards, pick a wallet case. Above all, check that the case is made for your exact phone model.

Does a case protect against drops?

Yes, though how much depends on the type. A thin silicone case keeps scratches away and helps with low falls. Rugged cases such as UAG or Spigen Tough Armor are drop-tested from 2–3 metres and give the most protection.

Why does a clear silicone case turn yellow?

UV light and the natural oils on your skin cause it. It is normal and cannot be prevented entirely. Tip: a darker colour or a clear TPU case yellows far less visibly.

Description

Nordic Elements Saeson Idun is a red case tailored to iPhone X and iPhone XS. Its slim snap-on shell is made from polycarbonate with a silk-soft finish. The rear panel uses a woven red-and-black Danish fabric inlay by Gabriel, finished with a contrasting aluminium Elements badge.

The fabric used for the inlay is Cradle to Cradle Certified; the certification applies to the textile rather than to the complete case.
The enlarged camera opening and shaped side cut-outs preserve access to the camera, controls, speakers and charging port on either compatible phone.
The fitted back-cover design protects the rear and sides without a front flap, card pocket, stand or integrated battery.

The case supports compatible wireless charging and Apple Pay without removal. The package contains one Nordic Elements Saeson Idun case; the phone, screen protector and charging accessories are not included.
