What is the difference between a silicone and a plastic case?

A silicone case is soft and flexible, and it absorbs impact well. It grips in the hand, but it collects dust and yellows over time. A hard plastic (PC) case is thin and easy to keep clean, but it does not give under impact. For most people a TPU or hybrid case is the better compromise — it combines both.

How do I choose the right case?

Choose for the way you actually use the phone: if you drop it often, take a rugged case; if you want to keep the phone slim, TPU or silicone is enough; if you want to carry cards, pick a wallet case. Above all, check that the case is made for your exact phone model.

Does a case protect against drops?

Yes, though how much depends on the type. A thin silicone case keeps scratches away and helps with low falls. Rugged cases such as UAG or Spigen Tough Armor are drop-tested from 2–3 metres and give the most protection.

Why does a clear silicone case turn yellow?

UV light and the natural oils on your skin cause it. It is normal and cannot be prevented entirely. Tip: a darker colour or a clear TPU case yellows far less visibly.

Description

Griffin Survivor Endurance is a clear-and-grey protective case made specifically for iPhone XS Max. Its slim tapered FortiCore TPU construction has a translucent back and shock-absorbing perimeter that keeps the phone's shape visible while improving everyday grip.

The manufacturer reports that the shock-dampening system reduces impact G-forces by 40% compared with conventional case materials and was drop-tested from 10 ft, approximately 3 m; these are attributed test claims, not a guarantee against damage.
Textured button covers are easy to locate by touch, and the pebbled side texture helps reduce slipping.
Precise openings retain access to the camera, speakers and charging port. The case supports Qi wireless charging and Apple Pay.

The package contains one clear-and-grey Griffin Survivor Endurance case for iPhone XS Max. The phone and screen protector are not included.
