What is the difference between a silicone and a plastic case?

A silicone case is soft and flexible, and it absorbs impact well. It grips in the hand, but it collects dust and yellows over time. A hard plastic (PC) case is thin and easy to keep clean, but it does not give under impact. For most people a TPU or hybrid case is the better compromise — it combines both.

How do I choose the right case?

Choose for the way you actually use the phone: if you drop it often, take a rugged case; if you want to keep the phone slim, TPU or silicone is enough; if you want to carry cards, pick a wallet case. Above all, check that the case is made for your exact phone model.

Does a case protect against drops?

Yes, though how much depends on the type. A thin silicone case keeps scratches away and helps with low falls. Rugged cases such as UAG or Spigen Tough Armor are drop-tested from 2–3 metres and give the most protection.

Why does a clear silicone case turn yellow?

Crong Color Cover Magnetic is a black protective case made for iPhone 14 Plus. The manufacturer's code is CRG-COLRM-IP1467-BLK. Its three-layer Anti-Shock Liquid Silicone construction combines a soft-touch outer surface, a rigid polycarbonate core and a soft microfiber lining next to the phone.

The flexible liquid-silicone exterior improves grip and helps cushion minor everyday bumps. Its smooth matte finish is intended to make dirt and fingerprints less noticeable and easier to remove, although marks can still appear during use.
The rigid inner core gives the case shape, while the microfiber lining helps limit rubbing against the phone's back when the case is fitted or removed.
The case wraps around the back and sides. Raised edges around the display and rear camera help reduce direct contact with flat surfaces when the phone is set down.
Built-in magnets help align compatible MagSafe chargers and accessories. The case also supports Qi wireless charging; actual holding force, alignment, charging speed and temperature depend on the phone and equipment used.
The magnetic ring is part of the case, but the MagSafe charger and accessories are sold separately.
