Tempered glass or hydrogel film — what is the difference?

Tempered glass (9H hardness) protects against drops and scratches and feels like the real screen under your finger. Hydrogel film is thinner and flexible, sits properly on a curved screen and heals surface scratches by itself — but it does not absorb impact. For most phones we recommend tempered glass.

Does a screen protector make the display worse?

No. A good protector has over 99% light transmission and an oleophobic coating that repels fingerprints. Colours and brightness stay the same.

Will a protector interfere with the fingerprint reader?

Tempered glass can slow down an in-display reader slightly. Hydrogel film works better with that technology. Tip: re-register your fingerprints after fitting the protector.

How often should a screen protector be replaced?

Replace it as soon as you see cracks or deep scratches — a cracked protector no longer protects properly. A good one typically lasts 6–12 months.

Tempered glass that covers the whole screen

3mk HardGlass Max protects not only the flat part of the display but also its rounded edges — the area tempered glass has traditionally left exposed. Surface hardness reaches 9H, so even sharp tool-steel objects pose no threat to it. That resistance comes from the tempering process: the glass spends many hours at temperatures of up to 420 °C. Reinforced edges, combined with a thickness of 0.3 mm, add further protection against impacts.

Clarity you never notice

The crystal structure of the glass is built from layers chosen for their transparency, so colours and brightness stay exactly as the screen renders them. An oleophobic coating cuts friction to a minimum: your finger glides smoothly and greasy marks wipe away without effort. The display answers every touch just as quickly, whether you are deep in a fast game or lazily scrolling the news.

Goes on without bubbles

The Inviscid-Sil adhesive stops air bubbles from forming and makes any that do appear easy to push out, so fitting is quick and stress-free.
